JOB DESCRIPTION
CLASSIFICATION: HEALTH AND SAFETY
TITLE: CROSSING GUARD
CALENDAR: CROSSING GUARD
SALARY: GRADE 103
Job Goal Assist students safely through intersections and monitoring vehicle traffic
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma preferred
- First aid training desired
- Ability to work cooperatively with parents, students, staff and the general public
- Knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules
- Vision and hearing adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner
Core Job Functions:
- Place traffic signs where required
- Utilize proper procedure, walking students through the crosswalk
- Ensure student safety by ensuring students walk within the crosswalk lines
- Report violators of the 15 mph zone, both pedestrians and vehicles
- Perform related duties as requested
- Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed
