CLASSIFICATION:      GENERAL OFFICE                                                                                                     

TITLE:                          SENIOR SITE LEADER-SCHOOL AGE

WORK YEAR:               12 MONTH              

SALARY:                       GRADE 113

                       

Job Goal: Coordinate, organize and monitor children's activities in the day-to-day operation of the before and after school programs.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 60 academic hours in child development or a related field.
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Must support a site with 120 or more students attending on a daily basis.
  • Minimum 18 months experience working in licensed childcare facility
  • Satisfactory criminal background check
  • Negative TB Test required upon hire

Core Job Functions

  • Provide opportunities for academic enrichment and recreational activities for students
  • Develop and schedule children's daily activity choices and assign the work of team members
  • Assist in training, evaluating and supervising site team members
  • Coordinate the staffing needs at the site, including substitute staff when required
  • Prepare, maintain and assure compliance of all documentation required by the Department of Health Services
  • Alert a supervisor to any problem or special information about a student
  • Communicate with parents on student's progress, issues and outcomes
  • Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
  • Make the well being of students the fundamental value in all decision making
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with district personnel
  • Participate in a minimum of 18 training hours per year
  • Accept responsibility for students well being and safety while they are in the programs care
  • Be alert to and report the possibility of any substance use, child abuse, or dangerous situation based upon daily observation
  • Operate and care for school district's equipment properly
  • Follow district policies as outlined
  • Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed by supervisors  
  • Be flexible and perform other duties relating to general job function as assigned by supervisor to include relocation on a permanent or temporary basis.

Positions in this classification typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), focusing ability, or other factors applicable for the job.   Employees may be subject to travel, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, bloodborne pathogens, and loud noises.
